Psychotherapy

Services

All therapies that we offer are evidence based. Division 12 of the American Psychological Association, the Society of Clinical Psychology, sets agreed upon standards for what counts as evidence based. If you don't know what treatment to choose don't worry, the first session will be assessment focused. The results will help you to decide along with the support and guidance of your provider.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

Changing thoughts and behaviors causes change in mood. This therapy helps you change problematic thoughts and increase activities in your life that are meaningful and rewarding. This is the most extensively researched treatment for depression and can help most people, most of the time.

Meditate

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

A radical departure from CBT, this therapy helps clients to reduce the control that thoughts and feelings have over their lives, and increase openness to experience. In so doing, the client is freed to live life in a way that is more consistent with deeply held values.

Couple

Interpersonal Psychotherapy

Relationships are at the heart of this approach. In addition to CBT, this is the other most time and researched tested approach to treating depression. Resolving issues related to grief, role disputes, and social isolation is at the core of this approach.

Tire Flip Workout

Exercise for Mood and Anxiety Disorders

Exercise makes you feel better! Its the best kept secret of psychologists. It can be as effective as medication. Conventional therapy techniques are applied in addition to a focus on designing an exercise program and carrying it out. Barriers to success are addressed along the way.

Our primary goal is for you to feel better!

Research shows that these treatments work for most people, most of the time. If we select a treatment that is a bad fit or if you want to switch to a different approach, tell your provider and they will be happy to change.
